Dear Dreamer

Dear Dreamer,

I know you have many dreams within you,

Stirring until you are about to explode,

Bursting up within you like a bubbling fountain.

I know you are wont to daydream

As others take for granted this world

As something callous and impersonal,

Yet you know there is something more – don’t you?

I know you are longing for a change

To occur within your own heart

Until all the world should mirror it;

Until all mankind should see such beauty as you see

And long for change within their own dreary hearts!

Dear Dreamer,

I see you awake in the midnight hour,

Pondering every meaning, every word, every image

That flashes through your brilliant mind.

I see you in the mundane day-to-day,

Seeking to reconcile the boredom in front of you

With the beauty breaking forth within you,

Believing you can build a better today – can’t you?

I see you pouring yourself out

Time and time again in the places no one sees;

Pursuing your passions with endless energy,

Trusting that if you refuse to give up

You may one day help them believe.

Dear Dreamer,

I feel you beating within my heart,

As if our dreams somehow connect us together

And make our hearts beat in synchronicity.

I feel you like a gentle river

Flowing through my veins, rushing and roaring

With turbulent volition that makes me tremble,

For you will change the world – won’t you?

I feel you creating new worlds within

That resonate to the very core of humanity,

Causing a chasm which can only be filled

By the wondrous dreams you know so well,

Since you know mankind was made for more!

Dear Dreamer,

I love you as a father loves his child,

Wanting every desire of your heart to come true,

And hoping to be part of fulfilling it for you.

I love you as a friend loves a friend,

Always seeking to join in your joyous celebration,

Uncaring for how crazy the world thinks we are,

For you have tasted and seen of a sweeter reality

That drips honey within the secret soul – haven’t you?

I love you as a lover loves her lover,

Conjoined with you in your sorrow and pain,

Unwilling to let go even in the fiercest storms

That seek to destroy you, because I know

How full of vibrant life and dreams you are!

Dear Dreamer,

I am you in your darkest hour,

Searching for love in all the wrong places

And hoping to be filled by empty fantasies.

I am you when all hell breaks loose

Upon the fulfillment of your dreams,

When it seems like every wish is lying

That says you are born for this – aren’t you?

I am you in your heart of hearts,

Whispering sweetly of who you truly are,

Pouring liquid love into your identity

Until you blossom like a wildflower,

Spreading heaven’s fragrance wherever you go…
